AMES, Iowa – Missouri had 26 hits en route to a doubleheader sweep of Iowa State Wednesday afternoon at the Southwest Athletic Complex. The Tigers took the first game 12-1 before wrapping up the afternoon with a 6-0 victory over the Cyclones.
The Cyclones (26-23, 3-10 Big 12) were unable to get anything going offensively against the Tigers (42-13, 9-5), collecting just six hits in the two game Big 12 series.
In the first game, Missouri scored three runs in the first and third and added six more in the fourth to earn the five-inning win. Amanda Renth, Lindsey Ubrun and Abby Vock homered in the opening game, with Renth’s being a three-run shot in the third.
