STILLWATER, Okla. – The Iowa State women’s golf team sits in eighth place at the 2008 Big 12 Championships after firing a second-round 326 at the Karsten Creek Golf Club Saturday afternoon. Tournament host Oklahoma State holds a 14 stroke lead heading into tomorrow’s final round over the two-time defending Big 12 champion Texas A&M.
Karly Pinder, Pennapa Pulsawath, and Kendra Hanson all carded 81s for the Cyclones during the second round. Heading into tomorrow’s final round, Pinder is tied for 26th place while Stefansen and Pulsawath are tied for 35th.
OSU’s Jaclyn Sweeney holds the top spot in the medalist race after she carded a two-over 74 and holds a two stroke lead over Texas A&M’s Sarah Zwartynski heading into the final round.
