AMES, Iowa – Iowa State all-conference football players Alvin Bowen and Athyba Rubin were selected by the Buffalo Bills and the Cleveland Browns, respectively on Sunday, the second day of the NFL Draft.
Bowen, who earned first-team all-Big 12 honors at outside linebacker and finished his career with 287 career tackles, was drafted in the fifth round by the Bills as the 147th player drafted overall.
Rubin, who earned honorable mention all-Big 12 honors at nose guard last season and made 75 tackles in two ISU seasons, was taken by the Browns in the sixth round as the 190th player taken overall.
