Is he African American? I hate to bring in the race card, but for some inner-city kids, it matters. His resume sounds good, and I hope he talks a smooth game. This appears to be a good hire. Nice work McD.
Its been too long since we had anyone from the state of Illinois come here to play basketball. We really need hit the recruiting trails hard in that state. I am telling you this from a person who follow Illinois high school basketball a lot.
Jeff Honacek was from Illinois, however I believe he was a walk on. I've never quite figured out why Illinois has never had better football and basketball teams with all that talent on it's doorstep.
We'll find out how good a hire he is in a few years.
