Over the last several months, the athletics department has begun the transition to the new “Iowa State” primary mark for the 2008-09 sport season and the football team will be the first to sport the new mark.
Cyclones.com is pleased to give fans a sneak peak of the new-look Cyclone football team. Larger images of the new uniforms (home and away) are available by clicking the links above. Special thanks to sophomore linebacker Cameron Bell of Round Rock, Texas for taking time to pose in the new uniforms.
Athletics Department officials will be bringing the actual uniforms on the Tailgate Tour so fans can see them at any of the upcoming stops in Cedar Rapids (May 14), Bettendorf (May 15), Waterloo (June 4), Mason City (June 5), Minneapolis (June 6), Sioux City (June 10) and Council Bluffs (June 11). Is there any way that we can be like LSU and wear the road uni's most of the time?

Any team that was currently doing it, aka LSU, was still able to wear the light color at home, but I don't think anyone else can anymore.
Like I said, I could be wrong, but I thought I saw something about this a year or two ago.

Like I said, I could be wrong, but I thought I saw something about this a year or two ago. The home team is allowed to choose which jersey they want to wear. However, if they want to wear white at home, they must give the road team a year's notice, and the road team must approve of the change.
A couple years ago, Vanderbilt decided they weren't going to approve of LSU wearing white at home, so they had the entire stadium wear white and the team wore gold jerseys, which were pretty cool. |

I guess I'm too old, but this is a return to the ealry to mid 1970's and Earle Bruce's uniforms. A welcome return in my opinion.
USC colors btw are cardinal and gold.

Credits: 11,243 | Re: New Football Uniforms Unveiled I like the new uniforms, but I'll be happy when we stop changing them every couple of years. The hallmark of bad programs is uniform changes every few years. The top programs rarely change their uniform designs and logos. Just my 2 cents. |
