Uhh... that's from a year ago. Also, Iowa had been in the top 25 for quite some time up until last year if I remember correctly.

You are correct. Going back and looking at the figures back to 2000, it is quite sad the dropoff in attendance at Iowa games. Iowa State has been pretty steady, yet I'm not sure how we had such low numbers of people at the games in '00 and '01 when we were so good. Here are the numbers:

Iowa had been in the Top 25 every year they released the Top 25, going back to the late 1970's, until Alford's final year. You can see the Alford effect in the numbers provided above.

Now, Lick has to clean the place up. Alford was possibly worse than going on NCAA probation.

ISU fans have been doing a great job of showing up, during some hard times.

This reaffirms my annoyance with those people who try to blame the fans for not supporting our teams enough.....the winning has to come on the court, not from the stands.

Funny how this year was the highest attendace since at least 2000 and yet all that I can remember reading this year was about the lack of people going to the games. I don't even know how many threads there were of people complaining that Iowa State fans weren't supporting the team by showing up to games.

I support those threads - no offense, but there was no where NEAR 13k people at the games.

I was at every game. There were quite a few lonely moments there for Revkah and I, and too many chances to move down from the 4th row from the top.

Selling lots of tickets is a great thing, but a lot of those people never showed up.
