AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State women’s basketball team ranked fourth nationally In NCAA Division I attendance, averaging 9,387 fans per home game during the 2007-08 season. The Cyclones also ranked fourth in all-game attendance, which includes home, road and neutral contests.
“I say all the time that we have the best fan base in the nation,”
ISU head coach Bill Fennelly said. “To rank in the top 10 in attendance for the ninth straight year and be fourth overall is amazing. The emotional attachment Iowa State fans have to our program is so very special and it makes you feel honored to be a part of Cyclone women's basketball.”
The Cyclones ranked among the top 10 nationally for the ninth consecutive season, and returned to the top five for the first time since the 2002-03 campaign.
ISU’s home attendance for 2007-08 was the fourth best mark in school history.
