AMES, Iowa – Iowa State football season-ticket holders have a limited amount of time to add comfort to their seats at a discounted price. Cyclone Cushions chair backs are currently on sale for the upcoming Iowa State football season at $30 per seat, if the order is placed by June 30. After June 30, the price increases to $39 per seat.
Cyclone Cushions are installed for the entire season. Seats in Jack Trice Stadium that do not already have a backrest on them have the full chair back model installed, while seats that already feature a backrest will have the cushion-only model installed. Full Story |

I love the cushions! They help designate your seat for all the wide loads and people trying to squeeze in a friend, and they are extra comfy when the old folks behind ya are yelling at you to sit down!!

Last year I was the only guy in my row that didn't have one. I laughed when I saw that. I just don't think they are comfortable and would rather sit on the bleacher.

In Section 19, we pretty much stand for the whole game...which is nice.

I agree the main reason I get the cushions is so the wide loads next to me dont sit on my seat.
Last year my wife was getting up at half time to go to the bathroom and was she violently yanked back down to her seat. The scarf she had around her neck had found itself under the large surface area of the fan next to her. Damn near took her head off.

We used to find that the people to our right would always bring extra people and squeeze us over. We added the cushion seats and it worked perfectly. The first game of the season they brought too many people and didn't fit between our cushions and the end. After that they only had the right amount of people.

Yes, they help us keep what we've paid for, but why should we have to put more just to assure that we're in our own seats? Perhaps a buzzer or a hotseat botton with remote control (or cold, depending on the weather) on those metal seats would work just as well.
