Sports bar down here offers a pretty good breakfast buffet on game days. Kiddies get to eat pancakes while I get sausage and beer.

Best part about living in Houston for awhile. It's Big XII country, no Big 10 allowed.

The only Big 10 game I was forced to watch that year was the Iowa vs. ISU game.

In Austin there are quite a few Illinois, Penn State, Michigan, and Ohio State grads. So the Big Ten is still pretty prominent here on game days.

2:30 = best games. tailgating reaches its peak around noon, 11am games obvs miss this.

as far as the BTN...meh...whoopty-doo.

as fas as day game favors iowa, night game favors I-State...what was last year then? and 2 years before that?

more importantly, i'd say home field would matter just a lil more than time of day. talk to me for a prediction the week before.

Yes. But I most likely will be watching it through the Slingbox myself. If I don't, I'll gladly let someone know the Finder ID and Password.

I don't think there is anything I hate more than 11 am kickoffs. To me, 4 is the perfect time.

Marty was blaming the party culture in Iowa City and said Hawkeye fans aren't responsible enough to have a big game at night...

Why any sportsfan has Mediacom is beyond me.
I was just announced the game WILL be in HD.

I noodled the numbers if they had landed Comcast and Mediacom with the original $1.10 per subscriber / month and the revenue was huge. Tens of millions per year from Comcast alone, which is why I didn't think a deal would ever occur. It sounds like they settle for 1/2 to 2/3 of that, so it's still big, but the numbers probably go down dramatically if they switch to the digital tier next year.

For me, I hope Mediacom realizes that Cyclone fans in Iowa do not want to subsidize the conference of their rival. That just doesn't work for me and I will drop them if they cave. Iowa is unique among the Big 10 states in this regard.

Well said - I will write them and tell them I will drop them too.

It will be just like last year and every other time ISU has won. Must hear raido for ISU fans it never gets old. The only time soundoff is worth listening to is after an Iowa loss. Heck you can tell Jon is about to lose it hearing some of those fans. If ISU does win I wonder what Jimmy Zs excuse will be this year. He used about 5 last year.

Re: Iowa State at Iowa 11am, Big Ten Network

Having this game on BTN maybe a way they strong arm Medicom into getting the network. It doesnt say much about the game or either team when it falls to the 3rd, 4th, or 5th network. There will also prob be Big 11233 announcers doing the game so the love fest with Iowa will be bigger than normal. ISU may not get credit for anything in the game. 11 is earily but Iowa prob doesnt want a night game.

What do you all think the cheapest price for a ticket to the game will be? I want to go if Mediacom doesn't get BTN by football season.
