But they're one of the best. I don't like the fact that he's really only coached one position, but I like the fact that he's been working with Shanahan. That man is an offensive genius, and his system is actually similar to what we want. A solid running game, a QB that is mobile, but looks for the open man first, and recievers that you can count on for the first down across the middle, or the deep threat.

By the way, dont take the fact that I like the system they run to mean I like Plummer, or am Ok with dirty O-line play. I do think however, that most people who feel they're dirty are chiefs or raiders fans.

The great thing about this is that we as fans don't have to make the decision that JP does. All we have to do is speculate and state our opinions

Maybe the Broncos defense could rub off on him.

Is anyone else concerned that we are focused on one guy? I at least hope JP interviews 3 or 4 guys and just doesn't make a blanket hire...

But they are good! Maybe our O-line could learn a few things...

What's this I hear about Mike Ditka being interested in the Iowa State football coaching job????

Is it just a rumor?

If that would happen...I would almost bet that we'd sell 40,000 season tickets next year!

I think we would sell out every home game just to watch him go ballistic.

Did anyone see this article out of Denver?

Brewster's taking the politically correct approach to this. But at least we know he has the desire to coach at the collegiate level...

Agreed. This seems like a reach with no coordinator experience or HC experience at any level.

He's coached High School ball.

He looks like someone out of a Kirk Ferentz mold...so I'd be fine with that.

ha ha.. isn't that a pic of the "Frog Brothers" from Lost Boys? Hilarity!

Today, still wanted by BCS teams, he survives as a coach of fortune. If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find him- maybe you can hire: Gene Chizik.

Seriously. Its comedy.

I still distinctly remember fan sites proclaiming Jeter as the new hoops coach...everyone was crazy in love with the guy (remember - he was young, on the rise, and could recruit?). Talking him up like the next Quin Snyder - oops. i mean Billy Donovan. Then it was McDermott. And a lot of people were freaking out that the guy couldn't recruit. Or that he'd only recruit Iowa, Wisconsin and anything ending in 'Dakota'? Lots of freaking out. I remember it...because it was comical too! So lets all go ahead and breakdown Brewster and Harbaugh and hand out awards for how well the recruit....that they have star power...that they knew Mack Brown...that they will hire coordinators......lets grade em out and approve so Jamie can offically hire our guy. Then maybe Jamie will hire someone else and we can freak out all over again.

Of course this is unbelievably entertaining. I'm very serious - this cracks me up. I love you all for making me laugh at the end of some very long days.

So what's my wish? Its easy! Someone who can recruit, is a pro assistant and knows Mack brown!

Go Cyclones!
Well said! I think it is also hilarious that a few weeks ago we were hearing excuses for McCarney that he couldn't get top assistants because there wasn't enough money. Now a new, inexperienced coach is bringing in top assistants and he doesn't have even have a job yet.

The beauty of the message board! How boring would it have been pre-internet when there was a coaching change.

Texas fans love this guy. Say he is Mack Brown Jr. Can recruit better than anyone in the state of Texas. I am on board if this is our guy. He has been under some of the best coaches in the world.
Here is who he has coached under

Marty Shotenheimer
The rat in Denver Shanahan
Mack Brown

I think he has picked up enough organizational skills. He was wanted by most Illinois fans when they had a head coaching vacancy. So I would take him.
