AMES, Iowa - The grind of a college athletic season is grueling for even the best organized and self-motivated student-athlete, but Iowa State women’s basketball player Shellie Mosman is making the regular season look like a walk in the park this summer.
The junior-to-be is in the midst of a rare summer accounting internship for students going into just their third year of school, and her days are filled from start to finish. Mosman is working for Deloitte Accounting Firm in Des Moines, while trying to keep up her progress on the court.
She begins each day with a 4:30 a.m. wake-up call. Weight lifting and conditioning begins at 5 a.m., and she is in Des Moines by 8 a.m. to start her day at Deloitte. At 5 p.m. she heads back to Ames and straight to the gym two nights a week to play pick-up games with her teammates.
