ISU Picks up first 2010 MBB Recruit

Iowa State Men's Basketball picked up the first verbal for the 2010 class by way of Rock Valley, IA Freshman Jordan Dykstra.

Dykstra is currently listed as being 6'8", 190lbs and will surely keep growing through his teen years since he's only 15 and wears a size 19 sneaker. While Jordan hasn't even played his first high school game, ISU is sure they've landed a future high school star and wanted to make sure they moved in before others had the chance. While visiting unofficially earlier this year with some other ISU recruits, Jordan was very impressed with the coaching staff and the way things are progressing forward.

Man 2010? That is way out. Sounds like Jeff Horner's commitment.
We might have flying cars by the time he gets to ISU.

How many years before college did Horner commit to Iowa, I think it was 3 or 4?

This has to rank right up there with the earliest basketball commitments to a college in the state of Iowa.

Only 15 and 6'8" with 3 years of growth still left...so what does everyone think he'll end up as? 6'10"? 7'1"?

I just hope he has shown some "mad middle school skillz" to go with that scholarship commitment.

Horner committed during his freshman year, I think he was 15...

you got to be kidding me. We're using a scholly on a kid whos never played one MINUTE of high school ball????? Offer it when he's proven he could play.

Patience, my friend. It is only a verbal commitment. He didn't sign with us. A lot can change in the next 4 years. But if the kid could be one of the best in the state, why not get him thinking ISU early.

He is on Martin Brothers the best AAU team in Iowa. So he will be and is playing the highest competition.

What if he is the next Nick Collison? As he grows up everyone realizes he is going to be awesome and well he ends up playing against us for 4 years at Kansas!!
