Dmac never got a 5 star recruit. He had a few 4 stars, but a couple never made it to campus and the other one was Stevie Hicks....
If Harbaugh is our next coach, the recruiting WILL get better... I'm not saying we will match 5 stars with texas, but it will be better.

FYI: San Diego is currently is ranked 15th in Div 1-AA. UNI is 12th in the same poll. UNI gives football scholarships; San Diego does not.
Edit: That is current thru Nov. 5th. UNI is moving down after loss and SD moving up after win.

We don't need to be relying on the juco's and HS bench players in texas.

Guys we almost lost to UNI, in all actuality we probaly should have. San Diego would probaly beat us and they don't give out scholarships. Now tell me how Harbaugh wouldn't be a great hire!!!

Bring your San Deigo Non-Scholly team up to Ames and if you can beat us, you're hired.
(All hypothetical of course since his players wouldn't be very motivated to win knowing they lose their coach if they do but fun to think about.)
I think this ISU team has zero left in the tank. I believe nearly anyone could beat them right now.

I am just looking forward to who these big time recruits are that Harbaugh is going to take with him if we do decide to hire him. He would be a great step forward and I do have hope for next year after what I have seen what Kansas State has done with a new coach. I am hoping that Bret and Todd are staying for their senior seasons. I am really anxious to see what the new coach can do with them next year. Hopefully he can use them better than Mac did.

I believe Harbaugh would at least get us in the door with potential recruits. ISU can't match the facilities of a Nebraska, or the weather of Miami, but we have opportunity for players to play and not sit and watch. We would have a young coach with ties to the NFL. (all recruits want to play pro ball) and we would be seen as an up and coming program. All are exactly what we need to be competitive.

Don't joke about this. I've posted this before, but it's worth posting again.
San Diego beat Drake 37-0
UNI beat Drake 48-7 ISU beat UNI 28-27.
I think ISU vs. San Diedo would be a real competitive game. If you challenged Harbaugh that he would need to get the win for the job. Well, I wouldn't want to bet against Harbaugh.
I want Harbaugh here now!!!!!

Hopefully harbaugh can to the big time recruits that they can come right in and be productive their freshman year, just like what Illinois did to get that 5 star reciever. We all know he didnt go to Illinois because they have a powerhouse over there.

Jeremy - Jeter was NOT a decoy. He was in-line for the job prior to JP receiving a call from GMAC.
I hope you are right about Harbaugh, but I seriously question your sources if you think Brewster and Sherman are "decoys" much like Jeter.

Believe me, I know Jeter wasn't a decoy but was rather the top guy until things with McDermott picked up. I was following it very closely at the time and I know exactly how things went down. I don't think Brewster is a decoy per say but it doesn't hurt to have people looking at him instead of Harbaugh if you really want Harbaugh in the end.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. |

Yeah, I learned my lesson on the bball hire. I'll just enjoy the rumors and wait to see what really happens.
|
Today, still wanted by BCS teams, he survives as a coach of fortune. If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find him- maybe you can hire: Gene Chizik.
