Exclamation Exclusive: Announcing ISU Football’s Next Head Coach

Exclusive: Announcing ISU Football’s Next Head Coach
CycloneFanatic.com
Jeremy Lind

I’ve talked to about fifteen different individuals today spread out all across the country regarding the search to replace Dan McCarney as Iowa State’s next Head Coach. Here is the culmination of the day’s work…

While I know I’m going out on a limb here by stating what’s below, I feel very comfortable in what my sources have been telling me and wanted to let everybody know what appears to be imminent. Two of the sources I talked to today were the same ones that helped me break the news that Wayne Morgan was being fired and that Dan McCarney would be stepping down, long before other outlets made similar announcements.

My formal announcement below is what I personally feel will happen based on the latest news from sources and I will take all of the wrath from those of you that hold me accountable if it doesn’t pan out as I suggest. So here I go, off to the land of breaking news or hanging myself.

The timeline of the future events is simple and goes as follows…
Iowa State formally offers Jim Harbaugh the Head Coaching position at Iowa State by the end of this week.
Jim Harbaugh accepts the offer this weekend or next Monday at the latest.
Iowa State makes a formal announcement around the middle of next week naming Jim Harbaugh as the man replacing Dan McCarney.
From my sources that I talked to today, Jim Harbaugh has been planning for around a year now to make the jump to the Head Coaching ranks at a BCS program and has made plans for such an occasion. Harbaugh has already talked to and gotten committals from a very broad and diverse group of assistants that are loyal friends and colleagues of his. Along with the great group of assistants, Harbaugh has also had some players and recruits hint that they would wish to follow him to his new destination if allowed and in their best interest. There is said to also be some transfer players involved that could help give ISU some quick relief right away.

While we all know that things change rapidly and that there could be candidate “x” that we don’t know about, I feel very comfortable with the information told to me by several individuals on both Iowa State and Jim Harbaugh’s side of the situation. Knowing what I do, I feel much more comfortable with this eventual coaching change than I did even a couple of days ago. Nothing is set in stone by any means but I really do think Jim Harbaugh will be announced as the next Head Coach unless a bigger program can offer more before said offer is made by ISU. There are other programs wanting to get Harbaugh before the end of the year so ISU will need to make sure to get things finalized sooner rather than later.

Things are moving very rapidly behind the scenes despite anything else being portrayed in media outlets like the Des Moines Register. Jamie Pollard knows very well that he has to get “his guy” before others have the chance to or before additional recruits or players jump ship. The fans want somebody in place to start recruiting as soon as possible, and Jamie, I believe, has his man.

A follow-up regarding this news story...

This topic has been closed due to so many people getting off-topic and not reading the entire thread before responding.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Huh? Jamie lied to me? He said he would like ME to be the next head coach!!!

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

DAMN IT ALL, Jeremy! Post the news when it's official! Don't tease us!

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

Jeremy, is this about ISU's new 'Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation'? If so, then the Rag beat you by a few hours. http://www.dmregister.com/apps/pbcs..../NEWS/61113032

nah, in that case you KNOW you're never getting it. We'll get the news sooner or later. This is more like having a really hot girl in your room after a night of partying and waiting for your tag-a-long buddy to stop trying to chat with her and leave.

I'll order up another shot of sin, I'm running twice as hard into the wind, I'll hitch a ride when the next one comes in, fell off the wagon again...
