Post Pack The Jack For The Seniors

Pack The Jack For The Seniors
Media Relations

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State football fans are being urged to “Pack the Jack” Saturday (Nov. 18) in the Cyclones’ season finale vs. Missouri. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Jack Trice Stadium.

Twenty-three seniors along with the winningest coach in ISU history – Dan McCarney – will be participating in their final game as Cyclones.

“This is not about me,” McCarney said of Saturday’s season finale. “The time a young person gets to put a uniform on for the last time is very special. I want Saturday to be about the seniors playing in their final game at Jack Trice Stadium.”

The “Pack the Jack” promotion features discounted hillside tickets ($15 adults and $5 children). Additionally, the team will enter the field through a “tunnel of letterwinners”, many of whom are former McCarney players. A number of video salutes highlighting McCarney’s tenure will run on the video scoreboard throughout the game and the ISU Marching Band will perform its music from a formation honoring McCarney.

Lastly, the Iowa State football team will hold its end-of-year awards ceremony on Friday (Nov. 17). The banquet will be for players and their families only and is not open to the public.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Bring your signs, cameras, and energy to support the guy who put ISU on the map.

Saturday should be a very emotional day for coaches, players, former players, faculty and fans.

I really hope Cyclone fans show up in masses Saturday. We definitely won't be forgetting the camera for this game.

Mac can try to keep the focus on the seniors but I'm going more for Mac than anything. I appreciate the seniors and all but Mac has been here longer than any one of them.

Oh wait...I go to all of the games anyway.
