It was a very solid answer. No question about it

Don't you mean "No doubt about it?"

Re: ISU Media Day thoughts

I know I'm a little late from the original post, but I think it's great that a media personality can take the time to post their thoughts about their exposure and relationships they build with a team we all root for. Since none of us necessarily get into the position to get to know these kids on a more personal level, I think we appreciate the thoughts even more from those who do get that chance.

John, I'm not sure if you got a chance to talk to any of the new recruits, but do you see a difference in the approach of these kids compared to those that Dan brought it. My assumption would be no, but I thought a good question to ask.

I want to know what Jeremy's edit to Jon's post was......

“My expectation of Iowa State is that we should be able to win games against great football teams. If I expected anything less, I wouldn’t be here, and they shouldn’t be playing for me.” — Gene Chizik

I just watched the press conference. What an impressive interview with Coach Chizik. He just seems to be such a no nonsense guy

I simply added "Jon Miller" to the end and moved it to the frontpage.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

The media guide has him at 215 vs Robinson at 181. If he's getting that big I wouldn't mind seeing him get some reps at RB. It's been mentioned before, but having both AA and Bates on the field more would be sweet. If Bass ends up leaving that depth at RB would sure be nice, not to mention the option threat. Having Scales remain injury free all year is unlikely.

Can you get KXNO in Ames? I was in Ames the other day and wasn't exactly sure of the frequency and scanned for it, but did not get it. I was scanning the low end of the dial, but may have just missed it. I googled it and see its 1460. Should come in I would think.

I think they are just 5000 watts.... usually can't get that in WC, unless the winds are favorable (or not depending on your stance)..

but Ames still is iffy on getting that station. Thats too bad.. they should 'point' the signal up North.

I was always fine with getting KXNO when I lived up in Ames.

Re: ISU Media Day thoughts

Everytime I am in Ames, I get it just fine, and that has been with the last two cars I have owned. I picked it up loud and clear on Saturday.

Of course, once local sunset hits, its powered down, and I am not sure if Ames is in the pattern or not. But you should get it there.

I get it at least to Story City to the north, I get it sometimes to the Coral Ridge Mall exit to the east, and to Lamoni to the south. I don't get too far west of DSM all that much.

I have received calls from folks in Waterloo/Cedar Falls before as well.

But if you are not getting it in your car in Ames, that probably has more to do with your car.

is it possible to get? yes. depends on the radio you're using. I know my cars radio gets static whenever I turn or are near power lines. however, driving north on the interstate I got it well enough to listen to until at least hwy 20. if you're inside the best way to get it is streaming on kxno.com

Just to add to that, during the day, you can get KXNO pretty clear on highway 20 until you are in Waterloo.
