Season opener vs SDSU on National TV

When the 2008 Iowa State football team enters Jack Trice Stadium on the night of Thursday, Aug. 28, it will do so before the home fans in their new cardinal-and-gold uniforms and helmets. The season-opener vs. South Dakota State will kickoff at 7 p.m. CDT.

With the assistance of FOX College Sports, Cyclone supporters will have an opportunity to see the new uniforms on television (via FCS Central, a digital cable network seen in more than nine million homes nation-wide). In addition, Fox College Sports is allowing Iowa State to webcast the game live on cyclones.com.

It's actually really cool that they're allowing them to stream the game on Cyclones.com...

I've never watched a streamed game on Cyclones.com (usually I am at them.) What's the quality like?

The article says that Fox College Sports is available on channel 617 on DirecTV. I can't find any info about FCS on their website. Does anyone know what package you need to get FCS? It's not showing up in the Sports Pack.

DTV may still call it CSTV. That was the previous name for it.

It's ok, but there were a number of issues last year. Hopefully, they have worked out some of the bugs.

I've never watched on cyclones.com but I have watched quite a few streamed games on ESPN and the quality was always pretty good. Good enough to watch it full screen on a 19 inch monitor.

CSTV became CBS College Sports.

FCS is normally a conglomeration of programming from various FSN affiliates, with some original/exclusive programming sprinkled in.

If you have digital cable through Mediacom you can get it. Just call that afternoon and order the sports pack and then cancel right after the game. I've done that a few times for ISU games and they only charge you for one day's service which is basically nothing...I think I've paid about a dollar for it before when the Kansas State game was on one of these fox stations.

Yes.

CBS College Sports (formerly CSTV)
All 3 FCS channels (Atlantic, Central, Pacific)
ESPN U
Gol TV (soccer)
Tennis channel
Outdoors/sportsman channel

FCS also replays games in their entirety. On Central, they've been running a lot of FSN- and FCS-produced Big 12 games from 2007 lately. Atlantic has a lot of ACC and SEC stuff. Pacific is mostly Pac-10.

I only pay $3.95 a month to have it all the time. Very much worth it.

My bad, I thought Fox owned CSTV.
