Re: Charles Boozer Says Yes to ISU

And how far has it gotten Kansas? A loss to Oral Roberts.

Yay 4/5 star recruits!

Yes people, I am fully aware Kansas is better than we are at basketball.

Sadly, football too. *projectile vomiting ensues*

Plus, is anybody else a little nervous with Jessan Gray and Jiri departing that we maybe should have used the scholarship for a good, big, juco player. So far, I have no reason to question a coach who is undefeated and has signed a 5 star recruit. However, I'm not anti Coach McD just because I have questioned his last two signees. I don't know.
Whoaaa! I wasn't questioning McDs Judgement either. I was saying that it appears that this isn't the best get based on the recruiting databases. However, I do trust McD's judgement and Wesley Johnson is a great example. So my question was what is it about this kid that makes him someone McD offers a scholly to. I guess I was looking for someone who might know. Someone that has seen him play or have inside info. And if people thought he would be a guy who comes off the bench as a role player or someone who would be a starter in this system.

And I am certainly not questioning Lucca. I agree we totally needed a 3 point threat.

Why is it that if I ask for more information about what make a player someone we want, I lose rep points. Seriously people, relax. I'm the biggest McDermott fan you'll find. When someone signs who no one knows anything about, isn't it natural to want to know more about the player's talents?

Mcd wants some nba playoff tickets that he can scalp...

Seriously, if you only want info on the player and you don't want to rock the boat, try not beginning your comments by dissing a player (weak get) and questioning the coach--you've already pissed people off before they had a chance to hear your compliments, and by then, they're not listening....

I may lower your rep just for caring about your rep points. :) I sure as hell don't care about mine. Never will.

Gee, Larry, thanks for the post advice. How did I get through 500 posts without your help

Where did I question McD in that statement?

And also, if "weak get" isn't the right term, what is? Recruiting services didn't even list him and if they did, it was 2 stars.

Someone is next going say that stars mean nothing. Yet, when Brackins went to 5 stars, everyone was beating their chest in triumph.

You know what's also funny, is that you're the one that was "suggesting" to Jeremy that he shouldn't be saying that certain people are probably coming to ISU to coach, play, etc. Now you want us to give you props because you gave us a head's up about "CB"? Please.
I also did not guarentee that he was comming and make everyone beleive that he was. I put his initials out there. That way if I was wrong then I would not look stupid. Next time I will just start telling everyone that he is comming. Then when I am wrong I can go with the "well everyone else thought he was comming excuse". Maybe I will just hint that we might be getting someone. That way not everyone get's there hopes to high and I don't look rediculous when I am wrong.

Yep, he's COMING.

Today, still wanted by BCS teams, he survives as a coach of fortune. If you have a problem - if no one else can help - and if you can find him- maybe you can hire: Gene Chizik.

Oh, using initials so you can hide behind your vague references without any "accountability"? Then you want us to praise you? No thanks.

Some people, like Jeremy - have no problems speculating publicly based on some good information. If some of you have difficulties reading what's on an internet message board and not being able to differentiate between fact and speculation - that's your problem.

Re: Charles Boozer Says Yes to ISU

I listened to Coach McDermott speak on Thursday (company meeting) - the day after signing Charles Boozer. He indicated it is risky predicting how 18 & 19 yr olds are going to turn out. But, this recruit (Boozer) has a positive self image and lofty goals (wants to play in the NBA) - - Coach knows he will work hard and do what is asked of him. He said he tries to surround himself with people who are positive, are willing to make sacrifices, work hard, and believe they can achieve their goals. He mentioned that attitude is the biggest thing he needs to turn around in the ISU men's basketball program. They HAVE TO BELIEVE THEY CAN WIN. Just my 2 cents worth from listening to McDermott. But, what do I know - I'm an "old lady" compared to most of you on here?

Re: Charles Boozer Says Yes to ISU

Wow...I hope that is not true, cg. What a huge disadvantage for the school who recruits good players and then not only loses them early, but also the opportunity to fill the void when they leave. I had not heard of this but I guess it is possible. What would the intent of the rule be?

y did you kick cyclonedrew off the website? Seems like what he said is pretty minor and should by no means get him kicked off the site. What gives?
