In what we hope is a successful joint effort between CycloneFanatic, the biggest online free Cyclone community on the internet and CloneChronicles, the Iowa State blog on the highly-acclaimed SBNation network of sports blogs, we are proud to debut
CyScoop, a Twitter-based service that will allow for updates of Cyclone news via the Web, or, probably more importantly, text messaging.
Note:
It is highly recommend to only sign up for the text message option if you have unlimited text messaging, or don't mind incurring additional standard text messaging costs.
The initial plan is to update this feed with breaking Cyclone news (such as reported commitments, team news, announcements, as well as possible major website announcements at either site.
If this goes well, we may try and create additional Twitter feeds to sign up for score updates or commentary, etc.
How to join:
1) Set up a free Twitter account.
2) Navigate to the CyScoop page at
Twitter / CyScoop.
3) Choose the
Follow option at the top of the page.
4) Choose to turn on device updates.
To set up your cell phone to receive text messages, click on Settings, then devices. You can choose to ignore messages between certain times.
Feedback is appreciated. I will tentatively plan to send out test messages at 5 PM, 7 PM and 9 PM, unless I forget, which is a possibility. We'll be depending on
CF staff to help with occasional updates as well.
