AMES, Iowa—With the summer Olympics in full swing, inspirational gymnastics moments of the past and present are being shown to a world-wide audience. These moments will motivate today’s young gymnasts as they do to members of the Iowa State gymnastics team.
“When I was little, the 1996 team with the magnificent seven were just amazing to watch and as a little girl it made me aspire to do that,” said senior Jasmine Thompson.
“The first Olympics I remember watching were in Atlanta in 1996,” said junior Megan Barnes. “I was already involved with gymnastics then, but it inspired me to keep working hard to hopefully get to that level because the girls were so amazing to watch.”
