This is just another instance where nothing would make some people happy. There's just no pleasing some folks.

I am happy that we are getting the facility. I just thought we were going to re-hash the entire thread that was on here before.

I should have added something about a treadmill or boiling water to make my point.

"The land was donated to the Iowa State University Foundation for the facility by local developer Dickson Jensen."

That guy must have more money than he knows what to do with. He has to be losing money like crazy on the Harvester. Maybe someone should ask him for the money to bowl in the endzones?

Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are even incapable of forming such opinions.

It would be more impressive if it could have been built as part of, next to, or at least near Hilton.

Someone can be happy and proud it's being built, but still think a different location would be better.

Just means we can concentrate on bowling in the stadium sooner if bball is happy.

I don't think it would take off.

"Whoever the next coach is here I'm going to give him all I have," Arnaud, a sophomore, said. "That's my mentality ... It's kind of surreal right now. Give everybody a week or two to grasp it and we'll be back at it. There's still life on our team."

Re: Crews Break Ground on Basketball Practice Facility

I am amazed we're still having this convo but I guess I'll chime in.

Why would a facility next to Hilton be better?

The players will live out by this facility. Even though it's "off-campus," there's no doubt they'll move there. So what's better? Driving everyday to practice just because it is by Hilton (which they won't use much for practice anyway) or having 24/7 access to a facility right in your backyard?

Actually, I don't even understand why this location is an issue. We are getting a basketball practice facility in a year! A friggin year! At a great price! One next to Hilton might have been 3 years or maybe never and would have cost a ****load more! And would have covered up some view of Hilton...

alskdjfsldfkj....can you tell I'm excited for tonight?
