Can't confirm this, but it is on a news website and Harbaugh's agent confirmed Harbaugh was no longer in the running. Another member posted this in response to the Ditka thread and I wanted to get it to everyone - as it doesn't seem false.
Edit: Also, earlier today, Brewster removed his name from the list also. Brewster link

I threw out there the possibility of Ditka coming in as coach with Harbaugh as an assistant with the idea that Harbaugh would take over in a few years. Harbaugh would then get more of the experience that many say he needs.

It was reported in a Dallas Newspaper that Patterson has (had?) not been contacted.

Ok so Harbaugh, Norvell, and Brewster are supposedly not canidates. Kelly just got an extension, indicating he is staying at CMU. Kragthorpe says he hasn't been contacted by ISU at all. I just don't think its likely we are going to get Patterson for TCU. Ditka's name is swirling around out there, though that would be just crazy..... What the hell is going on? I wish Jeremy was here!!!

Wow. I'm really bummed that Harbaugh is out. But I'm very very glad to hear that Norvell is out as well.
I really don't know who of those that are left I would strongly support. Harbaugh was "my guy". I guess I'll just shut up now and wait for an announcement in the next couple days.

Agreed i was kinda Pumped for Harbaugh but thank god Norvell is out!!
