Exclamation ISU Inks Agreement With new Head Coach

ISU Inks Agreement With new Head Coach

With the latest news being reported that both Jim Harbaugh and Jay Norvell are out as candidates to replace Dan McCarney, we've all been on the phone with sources trying to get the latest information. Here's what I've got after four hours...

Three independent and reliable sources have confirmed that Harbaugh, Brewster, and Norvell have been notified that they are no longer candidates for the Cyclone Football Head Coaching Position. Harbaugh believed going into the weekend that he would in-fact have the job according to two sources extremely close to his end of the situation, even though he didn't have the best interview. Also, as of Sunday Jay Norvell had every intention of packing his desk up and moving to Ames, this according to sources in Lincoln as well as The Jake. While neither was being lead to believe they would have the job, neither had heard anything but positives unofficially.

What does this mean? Well, according to two of those sources, ISU has agreed to preliminary details with one candidate to take over the Head Coaching Position and further contractual details are being worked out. Also from those sources; ISU feels good enough about the final contract being signed shortly that they no longer wanted to keep the other candidates on hold as a courtesy to them and their respective situations.

At this minute I cannot confirm the new coach by name without more sources corroborating the information but I can say that there have been whispers of a somewhat surprise candidate over the past 24 hours that could be very telling. Along with possibly a lesser-rumored name, ISU could have a guy that isn't necessarily as well known by older donors as Harbaugh is, but more of a proven and great player recruiter and groomer.

One source casually stated, "Jamie knew he had to go after the guy [Harbaugh] that we [big level donors] wanted but in the end he ended up getting the guy that has the better resume. I respect that and so should they [presumably the fans]."

I am making more calls right now and hope to have more information in a little bit.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Well, I told Jamie I accepted the job. Or, at least I said it the picture of him on the front of CycloneReport.

I don't get it?? Is that a shot Jeremy about being wrong about Harbaugh?? If so, that is BS. He only passes along what his sources tell him. JP is a crafty guy and may have been purposely leaking news to keep everyone off the trail. You can't blame Jeremy for that. I certainly don't.

JP would have done great in the CIA....all the misdirection, false turns, getting rid of the people he doesn't think are going in the right direction....wow. The communists never would have stood a chance!

Harbaugh apparently was not as good a choice as inked new coach: John McBlarney. Maybe, it really is Norm Chow whose season is not over.
