AMES, Iowa--The Iowa State soccer team begins play in the Big 12 Conference, which boasts five top 25 squads, Friday with Missouri making a visit to the
ISU Soccer Complex at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Kansas journeys to Ames to battle the Cyclones at 1 p.m.
• Iowa State is in its 13th season of soccer. The Cyclones have a 102-120-19 all-time record.
• The Cyclones open Big 12 Conference play Friday against Missouri and Sunday against Kansas. The matches mark the league debut of
ISU first-year head coach Wendy Dillinger. Dillinger looks to have the same league success she enjoyed at Washington University where she won or shared four conference titles in six years.
• Missouri leads the all-time series with
ISU, 8-4-1. The Cyclones were 1-0 overtime victors in last season’s match in Columbia. Sophomore midfielder Jordan Bishop netted the winner. Iowa State beat the Tigers in Ames, 4-3, Oct. 5, 2007.
