Certainly not someone I would call the first choice from the beginning, but who knows. No chance for a surprise like Patterson, Jeremy?

If he picks Barney Cotton as OC, I'll go to Drake games instead...just kidding. No chance of that pic.

Re: Iowa State Set To Introduce Brian Kelly Monday Evening

From article about Turner Gill in Buffalo....

When Brian Kelly came to Central Michigan in 2004, he took over a program that had just two winning seasons over a 10- year span. Three seasons later, the Chippewas are participating in the Mid-American Conference Championship Game.

The biggest obstacle was changing the program's pessimistic culture. "You have to stop losing," said Kelly, who will lead the Chippewas against Ohio University in the MAC Championship Game on Thursday in Detroit. "You have to stop losing in terms of everything you do. You have to do all the little things right: Weight training, academics, off-the-field. We couldn't start winning until we stopped losing."

Re: Iowa State Set To Introduce Brian Kelly Monday Evening

The fact that two BCS schools had him at the top of their lists after interviews definitely speaks volumes about our new coach. I'm ecstatic about this guy because he's achieved success with out name recognition, big budgets, top programs etc.

The bottom line is that he's achieved sustained success in underdog circumstances, and that bodes well for ISU.

There's a storm brewin', and it's named Cyclone Gene.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but truthfully, he'll have to win me over.

Why don't you start with an expectation of success, it makes for a much more enjoyable offseason. When is the last time we hired a football coach with the career winning percentage of Kelly? When was the last time we hired a coach who at won a national championship at any level? Kelly is a winner. He as been an a winner everywhere he has gone. One losing season in his career. No reason to expect anything but great results at ISU.

We all expected success this past season. How did that turn out?...LOL...

Been following ISU for the past 20 yrs and I find it much more enjoyable if I expect the worst and then am pleasantly surprised instead. Makes life MUCH less stressfull being a Cyclone football fan.
