According to the Des Moines Register, ISU has confirmed publicly that the Clones will meet Minnesota in the upcoming season. The announced game is one of a couple bigger matchups planned for the coming season(s) to introduce ISU fans to a consistently tougher schedule.
From the DM Register: "Cyclone coach Greg McDermott confirmed today that the teams will meet on Nov. 21 at Williams Arena in Minneapolis."

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. |

I've got the game on my calendar. Love to see the Clones up here. I read the Register article. I am really getting annoyed with Randy Peterson. He just had to add in;
"Iowa State ended up 16-14 before coach Wayne Morgan was fired in the offseason. Six players with eligibility remaining left the program during the transition, including star guards Curtis Stinson and Will Blalock."
As if anyone reading his little article didn't already know this. Was also annoyed by the article about Iowa being ranked 25th in basketball attendance for the 27th straight year, oh yeah, Iowa State was 26th with only 109 fewer people.
I love neutral coverage of colleges!

Yes, this pissed me off too! The Headline is "Iowa ranks 25th in attendence" like thats some great feat. And then the last line is pretty much "oh yeah, and ISU was 26th".
They fail to mention that Carver holds about 3,000 more people than Hilton and that Iowa had one of their better seasons in recent years and that ISU had a terrible season but yet we only trailed them by an average of 109 per game. That says alot about us ISU BB fans!!!!

FYI Carver doesn't hold 3,000 more than Hilton. Hilton's capacity is 14,014 or something like that Carver is 15,500

My bad, you're right. But still, my point is the same.

I am sure someone will help me out, about 15-20 years ago ISU played B-BALL in Minnesota on a Saturday
and the Vikings had a game on Sunday. Two great games in 2 days. I don't remember if we won, I think
we lost, but we had alot of fun.
The old place the Gophers play in was old then, I wonder if is safe to be in now. I remember walking under the bleachers coming and going from our seats. And the playing surface is like 3 feet off the floor, so
if someone goes flying after a ball it can be a bad deal.
Since they are having some problems in their program maybe we can go in their place and get a big win.

I just remember the year that we were down by 1 with like a second left, minnesota had the ball, and the guy tried a baseball pass down the court, the ball hit the scoreboard (remember the raised floor?) Iowa State got the ball back under their basket, and scored on the inbounds play to win the game.
I don't remember what year it was, but I think Justice Thigpen was involved?
Correct me if I'm wrong.
