Re: After The Announcement Analysis – Chizik & Pollard

Sadly I was unable to attend the press conference. I had to play parent instead of fan. Although this quote is great to hear:

To me it says that while we are determined to win, we won't do it at the expense of becoming a thug university like Miami.

I was sad to see baseball mentioned in the same thread as football. Baseball is a dumb pastime and as exciting as watching paint dry. Football IS America's pastime. If we are going to 'add' a men's sport, how about promoting hockey from a club sport to NCAA level?

By the way, how many people were in attendance last night?

My own personal guess would be he'll be here for five to seven years. Just guessing from everything we know about him, his values, his family and his goals.
Good points! Doesn't Jaime have a son who needs special madical care? I thought I read something about that when he was hired. I believe that Des Moines had some of the best medical care around for what his son needed and that was a major consideration in coming to ISU.
