Good Lord, how did you miss that fact? They were ranked 4th in the nation for most of their season. They were an amazing team with an amazing coach. They roughed up everyone pretty well at the Big 12 championships, and absolutely FLATTENED Iowa twice. (Chuckd is right; a 3-point win in gymnastics is like a 20-point win in football or basketball.) It's really too bad that she's leaving, especially on the practice facility note. I wonder if she was unaware that they're demolishing Beyer and State Gym in two years and building a new huge rec center with dedicated gymnastics space?

Don't blame gymnastics or any of the other "olympic sports." It's not an expectation that they make money or even break even. To do what she did with that budget is incredibly impressive. Now you see the incredible impact football can have on the olympic sports, including the ladies. This is an OU Football vs. ISU Football issue. That's where the money comes from to fund all those other sports. I'll avoid my rant about the title IX implications of football. Fact of life though. She better win and win a lot becasue they won't accept anything less. And I love what she's done at ISU, but building it up for a couple of years of success is a lot easier than keeping it there for the long haul. While it kills me to see her go to another Big XII school, it just shows the importance of football. We should really blame this on Culbertson. If makes a few more field goals we go to the Big XII championship and get more money, and a better bowl which makes more money, which allows us to fund our successful olympic sports. Off with his head. (I'm kidding.)

KJ and Lou will be missed tremendously, as coaches and mentors. Whether in the coaching world or civic world, they are examples of integrity. I cannot believe we have such shallow fans to want strengthening of "cyclone nation", yet remark "we have gymnastics?". Non-revenue sport should not have a value in this discussion....cough...cough....wrestling. Do not get me wrong, I attend wrestling, but is is non-revenue. To show concerns for the upcoming seniors is truly a concern, as well as the incoming top level recruiting class.

Point is we lost an asset from ISU.
