The APR rule is new so there are a lot of questions regarding it. However, from what I've heard I think
ISU can take those penalties immediately or delay them for 1 year. If we do lose 2 scholarships because Stinson & Blalock end up being 0-2 guys (didn't return & wouldn't have been eligible to return), then it seems to me that
ISU should split those losses between this fall and next fall. That way we'd have 3 scholarships available for this fall and 4 scholarships available for the 2008 class.
I think one thing we'll have to see is what G-Mac wants in his PG. Under Floyd, Eustacey & Morgan we targeted speedy PG that could break down defenses off the dribble. McIntosh would seem like a similar kid, but at UNI he had Brooks McKowen(sp?). Teams that rely on motion offense and a lot of half court sets tend to rely on screens and passing to break down defenses and get penetration. So G-Mac's priority might be PG's who can shoot jumpers and guys like Dunson or Stinnett could be solid PG's in G-Mac's system.
Conversely, guys that G-Mac has signed this spring keep bringing up his "style-of-play" as a reason for selecting
ISU. That makes me wonder if G-Mac might depart from his UNI type offense and play more uptempo using a tough man-to-man defense to create offense. Similar to what LE did at
ISU when he had Tinsley, Fizer, Nurse & Horton.

GMac has said the number one factor in choosing a point guard is being a winner. That is why Corey McIntosh was pursued.
GMac wants a floor general and game manager over anything else.
