This might be the year where despite we lost against Iowa in football, we may win out the cyhawk trophy. Let's face it folks.. our men's basketball team is clearly better coached and has more talents than Iowa. These players may not have played together before in Iowa City but to me Iowa is a cupcake team compared to UNI. We have an edge over the sqwaks in wrestling too. Now if we can win most of the remaining games, I think we can get the trophy again - maybe put a billboard sign up again on I-380 for winning the trophy again.. | | | |

This score post leads me to a suggestion. After some thought about the yearly disparity in home versus road contests in the series, I think the point system should be changed. A road win should be worth 2 points and a home win should be worth 1 point for all the contests except football. As far as football is concerned, I'm not sure what to do. Why not split up the FB and MBB & WBB games at least? Have the FB & Wrestling at one school and the BB games at the other in the same year.
To have most all of the main contests at the same school in the same year seems a little crazy and provides an un-needed home court advantage each year. | | | |
