Maybe a flyer from JP to get them to at least check it out. At most places, even large corporations, it's pretty easy to do. Even so, there's probably a couple/ three times a year I could throw a little more in the kitty for such a great cause. If we want to run with the big dogs, we've gotta be able to keep up with the pack, and that, as with anything else these days, starts with strong financial backers. It the long run, a little could turn in to a lot.
I can't make it for the Iowa game to meet other CF members, but will be there in spirit. Maybe in the spring someone could check out interest in a picnic/party/fundraiser at some park in Ames b4 and/or after the spring scrimmage. It would be cool to be able to put a face with some of the names that post here. Just a thought. I love that idea, could you please post that in the FanAddict Club forum so we can get some feedback on that. You really got something going there.

This is stupid. Anyone that is on the internet can afford ISU tickets, or just have the internet to read CF should have more than 5, 10, 20 bucks to joing the NCC.
I would promote the 20-29 age group just join the Varsity Club at 50 bucks a pop. I have a hard time believing that people can not afford $50 for the entire year.

I know a lot of people who only have internet access free through school or public sources, such as the library. Money can be tight for any number of reasons, and perhaps some students who are using all of their own money to pay for school, food, and lodging want to give the little bit that they can when they can.
This is in no way to detract from the NCC, Gridiron Club, or anything else. As Jeremy said - this is for people who want to be involved. If you have the $50/yr. to join the NCC, by all means, do so. If you don't want to give (either through CF or at all), nobody is going to care. This is just organized generosity, plain and simple. I would hardly call that "stupid"...

I am 24 with a successful job that pays well, but not great. A 4 year old running around needing this and that. I dont have cable TV or internet because I cant afford it. I dont have any fancy dancy home phone service. No caller ID or call waiting. The only way that i can afford internet is doing dial-up which costs $20. If it wasnt for this site and having the resources to enable my child to learn, I wouldnt even have interent.
I am as tight as tight comes with money. I can barley afford the $50 that I give the NCC to just get a discount on tickets. So if this site is as welcoming to $5 from me as the $500 from another person, then I am blessed to give such a donation.

Extremely well put. You are the exact reason this site even exists, for people that simply need an outlet to talk about ISU or anything else. I too am 24 and have a stressful job that, while it pays well, only goes so far. I drive 45 minutes each way to work and I wanted a place to hang-out with people in similar situations either at work or when I get home. I can't give ISU money in big chunks, as much as I would love to be able to. For me, it means everything to be able to give money when I can and if that means in a bunch of smaller chunks, so be it.
I realize that some people can afford to give hundreds or thousands of dollars at a time, but I believe that most of the fan-base can't. Those are the people that have never been targeted before and only because it takes more effort to reach out to them. It's too bad that people forget that the majority of the fans are the hardest working people that don't have the resources to be vocal or giving for whatever reason. ISU is such a great University to be a fan of for that reason, hard working individuals that never waver in their support, as monetarily light as that might have to be sometimes. Am I less of a fan because I can't give thousands of dollars a year? I would venture to bet I, and a lot of you, are ten times the fan most big-time donors could ever claim to be. After all, most of the time the empty seats at non-conference or other "meaningless" games are those in the "high-ticket" spots.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. |

Here is an idea. I am a current NCC member. Points are going to be more important in the future rather than senoirity.
When CF gives a donation they will receive points, if it is sizeable enough even parking passes, etc. Use some of the money to buy season tickets close to the field or court.
How about a raffle? Every five dollars donated gets you a chance. If we get one third of the active members to donate five dollars that is five thousand dollars plus. Not counting higher amounts.
This gives those of us that already donating to NCC a reason to increase funding, and for those that can only give $5 (and I have been there) some chance at benefiting from their donation.
Just my thoughts.

For those who have a company match, donating the money through CF would actually reduce the amount of money the Athletic Department receives since there is no way your company would recognize the donation. And good luck proving the donation went to ISU if you deduct this from your taxes and get audited.
Also, if the money is donated through CF, then this website effectively becomes a booster. At that point, any contact with a recruit becomes a violation.
Yep +1. Would rather just donate DIRECTLY to ISU.
