ISU to Host Golf Tournament for Ailing Chris Love

Former Cyclone Quarterback Battling Cancer
June 9, 2006

AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State football program will host a 4 person best shot "Birdies for Love" golf tournament on July 10 at the Bos Landen Golf Resort in Pella, Iowa. The proceeds will benefit former Iowa State quarterback Cris Love, who is battling cancer in Texas. The entry fee is $100 per golfer for 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch and a T-shirt. An after golf dinner is $20 and not included with the fee for golf. Iowa State passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Todd Fitch, a cancer survivor, will be the dinner speaker.

Donations are being accepted from those not able to attend the July 10 events. Donations can be mailed to the Cyclone football office c/o Birdies for Love, Jacobson Athletic Building, 1800 S. Fourth St., Ames, IA 50011. For more information call Kyle Knock at 319-431-5319 or the Cyclone football office at 515-294-6720.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.
