CycloneFanatic in the week ahead - massive server upgrade
Just to let everybody know, we are currently maxing out our current hosting server and will have to switch hosting companies in the coming week. I have worked through the weekend to prepare everything behind the scenes for the transition and have tried to do everything to minimize the impact of the move.
Our new hosting company is currently setting up a brand new server for us and it is tentatively scheduled to be ready for me to start moving things over on Monday or Tuesday. I have taken Tuesday off from work to allow me some extra time to get things completed. There will be a time this week when I am forced to take the site offline for up to 48 hours while everything is transitioned.
I know this is not an ideal situation but it will allow us to continue to grow and add new members without having the slow periods and instability that are starting to appear during peak times. There will not be any cosmetic or functionality changes on the site when the transition is complete so hopefully there won't be any complaints:)
I appreciate those that have taken the time to make a donation to the site, it is very much appreciated. With the move to a new server, we will have even higher monthly costs than before, so donations are needed more than ever. I appreciate all of the contributions that have been made, either from donations or from content. I could not ask for a better community of individuals than we have here on CycloneFanatic. I look forward to the great months ahead.
