Iowa State 2006 Football Schedule Among Nation's Toughest
The Cyclones face nine bowl teams from 2005.
June 14, 2006
AMES, Iowa - Iowa State's football team will seek a sixth postseason bowl appearance in seven years against what arguably is the nation's toughest schedule. Iowa State is one of two teams nationally that will play nine 2005 bowl teams this fall. In addition,
ISU will play host to the 2005 NCAA Division I-AA national runner up, Northern Iowa. Iowa State's 2005 opponents had a cumulative win-loss total of 93-54 (.633). Only Duke plays a schedule that is more stout than
ISU's slated opponents. The Cyclones play Big 12 teams that were 5-2 in bowl games last season with postseason victories against teams from the Big Ten, Pac 10, Conference USA and ACC.
