News: Iowa State to unleash it's 'Master Plan'
Exclusively at CycloneFanatic.com
OK, now for the big news. I have been able to get my hands on the press release and PDF for the 'Master Plan'. Below is the text of the letter to Cyclone faithful from the AD's office, as well as a copy of the PDF file that contains a summary of the projects as well as some renderings of the designs.
With the below projects and plans in mind, please make sure to find a way to help Iowa State achieve it's end goal in any way possible. This is a great opportunity for Cyclones to step up to the plate and make either a donation to the cause or to purchase season tickets.
UPDATE: I have removed the press release and letter to the fans from Iowa State by request. Look for all the official details and documents to be released on Thursday. The PDF copy of the summary and renderings will remain on the site.
Update2: I have removed the PDF until ISU formally releases by request.

I assume this will eventually be sent to all current alumni with a description on how to donate to the cause. Does anyone know this for sure? I can see myself putting up some coin to help in the effort.

It will go out to all the Alumni, donors, and I believe the season ticket holders as well. I think it is scheduled to go out on Thursday.

Maybe I missed something but it says "baseball" in the master plan. Is there inherent meaning in that?

Exciting Stuff. Let's all remember that we each have a roll in this no matter the size. It takes the season tickets, the $20/month contributions, and smaller one time gifts, along with the big hitters to make this happen. Stark, Jensen et al will not be the ones that this succeeds on. It will be up to the Cyclone base to make it happen.

I recall reading somewhere that Pollard wants to move everything that currently exsists at the southwest athletic complex down to Elwood. I don't know where he plans on putting all of it, but I think that is correct.
Also remember that Pollard said that he would bring back baseball when they had the resources to put forth a quality team. He doesn't want to spend the money just to be the basement dwellers of the Big 12

Great Plan, my only personal complaint is that I wish the external building designs were traditional architecture with red brick.......but anyway just let me know when to cut a check.

Something all should keep in mind when donating...some companies will match donations. Check with your employer to find out if they will match donations. Mine does so I can double my contribution. Very cool. Keep up the positive mindset. Go Cyclones.

I have to say, I'm just a bit disappointed that the two Hilton projects are getting priority over the football stadium. I would think that completing the end zone project first would give them access to that additional revenue to help finance the rest of the stuff. Not to mention that a hugely visible addition like bowling in a football stadium generates a hell of a lot more attention than a practice volleyball court does. People would get interested sooner rather than later.
Plus, I'll be graduating spring of 2010 if I drag my major out like I am. So I miss being a student in the new Jack Trice by three months...

The JTS improvements are only useful if we are successful and thus bring in a bigger crowd. We don't sell enough tickets to the non-key games to justify it at this time. As we start to win more and sell more season tickets, the extended seating becomes important. I don't think that it is justified as a priority just because we would sell out one or two games a year. As we do improve and sell more tickets, then it's key to the plan. The end can be cheaper season tickets that bring in guaranteed money and introduces people that later move into the more expensive seats.

Plus, remember that we'll always be a basketball school, regardless of how good our Clones do on the field.
