I wanted to pass on a few pieces of information that I felt comfortable in reporting at this time.
  • Iowa State is aware of Chad Millard and has started to evaluate the possibilities of bringing him in or not. It is known that ISU is top on Millard's list and would likely join the squad if a scholarship position was offered to him. It does not appear at this time that a scholarship offer is being drawn up today. While the staff appears to be very interested in Millard, it's too soon to judge when an offer would be made, if at all. I'm cautious to report too much on this other than that the staff is evaluating where they are, what they need, and what Chad would bring to the table and whether or not all of that is enough to warrant another scholarship player sitting on the bench for a season. The main targets for the coaching staff are still Stinnett, McFarland, Leuer, and one other 'unnamed' point guard.
  • Iowa State is getting closer to finishing the Men's and Women's Basketball schedules for the coming season. Both schedules are expected to be released to the general public sometime in July.
  • There is not expected to be a lot of major news coming out of Iowa State over the next week or so. While there is a possibility that there could be some Basketball and Football recruiting news and information, nothing official is expected from the University until after the Holiday.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Speaking of recruiting news in football, one local radio station was talking about K State Ron Prince handing out 2007 scholarship offers left and right, nop stars, four stars without full evaluation. Don't l;ook now, but K State sits at 17 LOIs. Is anyone close? The Purple Pride is going full bore with a firecracker lit under them. At same time, Dan at Colorado is very methodical and wants full evaluation. He has pulled over some potential Boise state recruits to the Colorado camp. And Bill Callahan at NE hads joined the mnunitions war by making offers before summer football camps are over. They tried to bait Phillip Bates towards NE again one more time a couple of weeks ago as an athlete, but Phillip said he is still a Clone. Thx, Phillip.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.
