Re: MH: ISU vs. Ohio Semi-Final Game Thread

We're still buzzing at the hotel right now, but its almost time for bed. We'll be back on the ice at 11:00 AM EST for the Championship game against #3 Illinois.

Jayson Peterson made it happen after a beautiful pass by Jason Brown and the Cyclones out skated, out shot, out hit, and out scored the #2 team in all the land. You beat Ohio, you can beat anybody. The Cyclones are looking solid as they head forward to the championship game against their biggest rival.

We're so proud of the guys and they are pumped. The momentum is on our side and the guys are ready. It's gonna be a great one. Tune in tomorrow for period updates! We'll see you tomorrow at 11 Eastern. Thanks again for all of the comments and support. I have been telling the guys, and they appreciate it.

Positive rep points to Pulse. I couldn't have said it better myself. ISU is a national power in ACHA Hockey Division 1.

Outstanding win!!! Best of luck in the Cahmpionship game tomorrow.

Go Cyclones!!!!

Hanging from the rafters.....hanging from the rafters.....tell Peterson to keep shooting the puck, good things happen when you shoot the puck. Thanks for the updates. The Cyclones have started the year of the pig off well!

Who cares how you label it. I'd say if you're in the top 10 in ANYTHING nationally, you're good. Quit being picky. Either you're a fan or you're not. Just cheer ISU on... PERIOD!

It's a pretty poorly designed website but here's the direct link for the game today.

Looks like we're taking to Illinois already! 3-0 with two goals from Majkozak and one from Tauer.

Re: MH: ISU vs. Ohio Semi-Final Game Thread

Illinois got one back; it's 3-1 in the second period now.

Edit: And another now. Two goals for Illinois in a minute and a half. The Cyclones have to tighten up.

Quick game in the second period. Mytnik scores for Iowa State to make it 4-2 six minutes into the stanza. That's Mytnik's third point of the game with the primary assist on each of Majkozak's goals.

Re: MH: ISU vs. Ohio Semi-Final Game Thread

Illinois scores 16 seconds after Mytnik's tally. 4-3 ISU.

It looks like Illinois put in their backup goaltender after DeGeorge allowed the third Iowa State goal. He almost never plays so Iowa State should have success if they can get some good pressure on him.

The fifth goal of the second period comes from Iowa State junior Allen Raushel from Brown and Cornelius.

5-3 Iowa State with just under half the period remaining.

No need to yell, we are all friends. If you look at my original post you will realize I am a fan.

And would someone actually read a post for once. I have said nothing negative about ISU or this team. Just pointed out the fact that this league is a club hockey league.

But you did say that it might be overboard to describe this team as a national power. But here they are leading the championship game of the best league in the best division of the ACHA.

We've read your post and understand it. Some of us just disagree with your conception of a national power.

I for one feel that any team that is at the top of their league is a power. Northern Iowa's football team was a national power two years ago when they were in the national championship. The team at the top of the Little League World Series is a national power. Iowa State Cyclone Hockey is a national power.

No scoring so far in the third and we've got under 10 minutes to play!
