Any of the Nike unie's are better than the Fizer era unie's with the shark tooth fringes and cold war era designs.

I like the new jerseys except for the way the side stripe moves to the front of the shorts. That part looks tacky as hell.

The blue trim around Iowa State and the number looks out of place considering the rest of the uniform is red with yellow trim. The yellow trim should have been used instead of blue. I guess ISU continues to push the blue on us. I think the uniforms are fine otherwise.

I think the whole reason they are pushing the blue on us is that they want to eventually make it a part of our jerseys permanately. Like what we did with the gold jerseys last year we could do with the blue. maybe for one game they would have a blue uniform with cardinal and gold trim.

I for one dont think the blue is that big of a deal. My biggest pet peeve with our unis arent just the basketball ones, but all of them and that they are red and yellow instead of cardinal and gold.

My criticism of Red and Yellow was no way a criticism of Cardinal and Gold. I like the cardinal and gold combo but you just never see it. When I think cardinal and gold, I think along the line of the SF 49ers colors. Perhaps even a bit darker on the red shade. Check out Notre Dame's definition of Gold. I'm sure no one would ever convert their colors to green and yellow. But somehow, our colors have morphed to yellow and red over the years.



Sorry to beat a deadhorse. I know uni colors and helmet design discussions get old.

I will check and see if I can get any renderings of the alternate colors.

These are still Nike but it's a completely different design than we're obviously used to. I think the overal design is more catchy but not in an overly flashy way. The only part that I'm not completely fond of yet is the forward movement of the lines on the shorts. I think it will look better on the final product though and I have faith that the players and coaches new what they were doing when they made their decision:)

I am not completely certain that this will be the final design for the women's jerseys, although I am about 60% sure it will be. I had heard they would use the same general look but I have only confirmed so far that these are the men's new jerseys.

I loved the fizer era jerseys.but you cant always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you get what you need.

When i looked at this design the first time, i thought something was missing but i couldnt put a finger on it.. Now that I look at it closer I realize that ti doesnt have any trim on the jerseys. Is it just not there in the drawing or is there not going to be any trim on the uniforms?

But otherwise, i like it. I thinkt he stripe going to the front of the shorts is growing on me. I really like the stripe from the shoulder to the kneck. I think it looks so good to me because its different anbd i like change. Our other jerseys seemed so plain and now they have a little flash to them.

I still think we should get some alternate black unis. Technically speaking yes the jerseys are Cardinal and Gold. But Red and Yellow being closely related, the topic of proper name for the colors shouldnt be such a big deal. Cause I mean Oklahomas Crimson and Cream.

Well I have to say that my initial impressions are...I'm not really all that impressed. I wanted something CLASSY and sharp, I'm talking UCLA or Michigan with our colors (a deeper red and a less-yellowish "gold"). But then again, it is just a rendering, which sometimes arn't really that accurate in terms of how something will look when the player is wearing it. With that said, I'll hold my judgement until I see the uni's on the court. I really wish we would have went back to Adidas because I felt they did the best at getting our colors right. I don't know if this is accurate, (I don't know where I heard it from?) but supposedly Nike has never cared to cooperate with Iowa State on the correct colors and has instead just used their general "red and yellow" to make all of our apparel. Again, I don't know if that's true, but I have heard that. O well, maybe they'll all get it right one of these days. Either way, I'm pumped about ISU basketball under GMAC and good or bad, we needed new uniforms [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]



As for the blue, I like it, and if some don't, well they better get used to it because it ain't going anywhere.

no offense but ucla and michigan is an old design. its just nothing new. pretty much like saying we should go back to our 90-99 jerseys. They'll work and if not they'll go back or come up with a new design.

You're exactly right, it IS an old design, and that's why I like it. It's simple and sharp, and to me it's CLASSY. And with our colors it would look awesome I think. We've had that style in the 80's and I think they'd be great now with of course a little modern touch (ex: longer shorts, better material, a big Nike or Adidas logo, etc)

Yeah it depends on what you like. I wouldnt mind them but then there is some sweet new jerseys. We should make some retro with just the tornado on them .
