Jeremy
Since a lot of you may have to work today, I thought I would cheer you up a little by posting a Cyclone Notables on an otherwise slow day. - ISU is close to securing a commitment from JUCO DE Keith Spann. Keith is a 6-3 265 lbs DE that is currently attending Decatur, MS Community College (would have 2 years at ISU). He is pretty versatile and runs a 4.7 40. ISU is currently his only offer but he is starting to get some other interest as well. Right now Ohio and Houston are our toughest competitors for him (if you call that tough competition) but he has had some other schools showing interest as well. I expect Spann to accept ISU's offer in the near future.
- Regarding current 07-08 MBB offers, here is the latest on the three big prospects currently being heavily targeted; Jon Leuer still considers ISU as his top choice. Leuer also has a lot of interest from Kansas, Minnesota, Washington State, and several other major programs. P'Allen Stinnett also considers ISU his top choice entering the July decision period. Stinnett has received a lot of calls over the past month from a growing number of major schools. P'Allen is expected to make a formal decision sometime in July and looks to be around 75% sure of ISU. P'Allen's teammate Andre McFarland is also leaning towards ISU while he considers taking some official visits over the next month. McFarland will likely take numerous visits, including an official visit to Ames, but still appears to be around 60% certain he wants to be a Cyclone. McFarland is seeing interest from Indiana, Michigan, Ole Miss, Baylor, Oklahoma, and numerous other major programs.
- Former ISU guard Curtis Stinson will be trying out for the Golden State Warriors over the next few months. Stinson will participate in the summer league play and is hoping to secure some level of deal with Golden State before the end of the summer. Stinson is also exploring other options within the NBA as well as overseas.
- The initial layout of the new ISU Cyclones website is now online. As expected, ISU started the transition from their existing design and system to a new, more user friendly layout over the weekend. There will be many changes and improvements over the coming weeks as everything is setup.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. |

Kelly seems to have some interest in ISU still but I haven't heard too much about him or Gabriel as of yet. I think a lot of it appears to hinge on what we end up getting for the 07-08 class. Kelly seems more interested in ISU than Gabriel at this moment in time but that could change daily. I wouldn't expect either to make any decision soon, let alone Iowa State to make a decision. |

Credits: 544,393 Degree: MSCE NFL: Patriots NBA: Warriors MLB: Devil Rays | 4.55 Tyler Sash - wants to play wide receiver offense instead of safety - leaning towards Iowa unless Clones offer other than safety. He will be allowed to also play bball. | EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Credits: 228,010 | Where do we stand with Jamine Peterson? Do we still have a scholarship out to him and would we accept it if he committed? I personally would love to have him but that is just based off of what I have read regarding Peterson having a TON of potential and athleticism. Kinda reminds me of Rahshon Clark. Thanks. | | |
