ISU's headliner for the '07 class, forward Craig Brackins, visited Buckley in Michigan earlier this week. Brackins was flying home on spring break and stopped through Detroit to hang out with his future teammate.

"Him and Craig got a chance to hang out," Sterling Buckley said. "They went to watch some playoff basketball over at the high school."

Now that is very cool! I can't wait for these guys to get on campus!

the link isnt working for me....

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

I know that there has been lots of speculation regarding Alex Thompson. I think with the addition of another guard in Brister it is quite evident that the coaches are high on Thompson and what he will contribute next year. If not, I think an additional post man would have been added.

It is working for me.

Better to be hated for who you are, than beloved for who you're not.

Thanks Chris. I really enjoyed reading the last part of that article, the other notes. It is good to see future teammates hooking up early.

- keep.

Re: My Weekly Column - The Brister Situation

Brackins, who suffered a dislocated kneecap about a month ago, is back and playing for Brewster (N.H.) Academy. He's led his team all the way to the Class A Finals Sunday. Brewster lost, but Brackins finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

19 and 10 after sitting for a month or so? Thats decent!

Re: My Weekly Column - The Brister Situation

I was a little concerned about Buckley though. He looks like a great prospect, I really hope we hang on to him. Would you say Brister is kind of a reach Chris? You really didn't seem all that high on him with the exception he has a big body.

Re: My Weekly Column - The Brister Situation

Thanks guys. No, I don't think that Brister is a reach. Here's why. I think that something is going on that we don't know about...a guard leaving perhaps. I know that Brister is a solid player who can contribute next year. Like I said in the article, the original plan was to get a JUCO big man. Obviosuly something has changed behind the scenes. We just don't know what yet. I'll keep you guys in the loop though.
