WBB: Fan Bus Offered For NCAA Tournament

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Athletics Department and the Iowa State University Alumni Association are offering a bus trip to watch the Cyclones’ women’s basketball team face Washington in the first round of the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minn., on Saturday.

The bus will leave on Saturday at 6:30 a.m. from the Jacobson Athletic Building and return to Ames following the second game of the day between Georgia and Belmont. The trip, which will include a ticket to the game, a round-trip bus ride to Minneapolis, a fan pack and a hot dog or pretzel and small pop at the game is available for $50. Fans who already have tickets can ride the bus and get a fan pack for just $35.

Fans can register by calling the Alumni Association at (877) 478-2586 or (515) 294-6525. The deadline for registration is Thursday, March 15, at 5 p.m. The trip is subject to cancellation depending on participation.

Additionally, any Cyclone fans attending the game in Minneapolis are welcome and encouraged to stop by "Sally’s Saloon and Eatery", which is located at 712 Washington Ave. SE, just three blocks from Williams Arena, to meet up with other ISU fans before the game. Sally’s will open at 9 a.m. with breakfast available and will serve as the official gathering spot for all Cyclone fans after the game.

Bus Trip Schedule
Saturday, March 17
6:30 a.m. - Bus leaves from Jacobson Athletic Building
10 a.m. - Bus arrives at Williams Arena
11 a.m. - Iowa State vs. Washington
1:30 p.m. - Georgia vs. Belmont
4 p.m. - Depart Minneapolis for Ames
8 p.m. - Arrive in Ames

Trip Includes
Tickets to the game (bench seating)
Round-trip bus ride to Minneapolis
Fan pack which includes water, pom, beads and snacks

Cost
$50 - Ticket with hot dog or pretzel and small pop at the game, bus transportation, fan pack.
$35 - Bus transportation only and snack sack.

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.
