Dodie:

Minutes: 690
Field goal attempts: 149
Assists: 30

That's not a point guard.

Re: MBB: McIntosh To Transfer

I think these are the growing pains your are going to endure with a rebuilding program. Within the first year of recruiting, you hit it hard trying to grab guys with experience and skills that can hopefully contribute to the team. Sometimes, in this case for example, you get more that what may have been necessary and then the player possibly feels that his qualties would be better suited at another school.

It's really nobody's fault because who knew Mac would have such an outstanding first year recruiting. This really puts a bind on the JUCO players when you have some great talent coming in who could really push for immediate playing time.

Definately wish the best of luck for Corey.

You and your fuzzy math Just kidding, those numbers are pretty telling. I'm not trying to argue he's a point guard, just that he can play one for a few minutes if we need it. He wasn't in a good position this year and probably won't be until his junior year. And besides, he didn't have anybody to dish the ball to most of the time to get any assists:)

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

I think you will see alot of shake-ups over the next couple years...

"Mac's" job is to compete and try and win a Big 12 Title, it was not going to happen with Corey McIntosh at the point...

Patience, it takes time, but we will get there.

Mike, I think you should have thought about that a bit before you said it. You're comparing him to the likes of Jeff Hornecek, Fred Hoiberg, Jamal Tinsley, Barry Stevans. Will was good, but it's a streeetch to call him the best point ever in ISU history.

Given the right time, I think Dodi will be a steller all around player.
Fair enough. I don't want to sound like I'm anti-Dodie. I'm a big fan of his. I agree wholeheartedly with you that he's always trying to learn and get better -- that's what I love about him. I hope he can develop those point guard skills because I think it would make him a better asset. With his ability to shoot free throws, I really hope he's able to get better at driving to the basket.

I forgot all about Boozer. We'll almost have to redshirt someone.

IF we redshirt anybody, I think it's clearly got to be Boozer just because he's just now developing his bst game. I think a year of work would be really good for him and would pay off down he road.

Oh forgot to throw Gary Thompson in the group. After the fact I noticed you said he could've been. Sorry I missed that.

He did seem to be the more underdeveloped player out of the group. Obviously we could all agree that Brackins is going to see time, and Diante should see the floor as well.

I'd say it's fair to mention Blalock's name in the same group with the other great PG's we've had here.

Sorry to see McIntosh leave. He wasn't great, but he was atleast insurance because as we all know, freshman(first year) point guards are hit and miss early on. I'll miss hearing Corey's postgame interviews as well, great speaker.

Corey was a class act. I had a feeling something was up. I had e-mailed him a little while ago and he didn't reply. He always did before.

Good Luck to him in his future.

I don't get this. I'm not angry that Corey Mac is transferring, just confused. Won't he have to sit out a year before playing his senior season? It just doesn't make sense to transfer, sit out a year, then play a senior season at a small school.

Now we just have to hope Dodie doesn't transfer:)
