Exclamation Spring Game Tail-gate

Come Help Kick Off a New Era!

On April 14 @ 1:00 PM, Iowa State Football takes the field once again in their annual Spring Game. CycloneFanatic.com and their die hard FanAddicts are going to be there early to help ring in the "New Era".

Games, Flag Football, and cheering loud with fellow Cyclone fans are just some of the reasons you need to come join us on this exciting day.

If weather and location permits, Flag football will kick off at 10:00 AM. So join us bright and early at 9:30 AM in the back Lot of C4. Please fill out the included poll so we get an idea of how many are willing to participate. This is strictly voluntary and is not sponsored by CycloneFanatic.com.

If you have other games that you would like to bring (bean bag toss, etc..), please do so.

And don't forget to wear your FanAddict shirts as true fans should! If you don't have one, get it here as they will not be available at the game!

Click on the shirt you want to order!

*Don't forget your grills, food, and drinks as they are essentials to any great tail gate gathering.*

I like "In Gene we trust" or "Gene Pluribus Unum." The translation of E Pluribus Unum is something like many uniting into one. Maybe someone savvy with photo shopping could take a dollar and put Gene's face on there, make it ISU related and put it on a shirt...could be cool. Sorry, I was just looking at some money on my desk. :)

Gosh. I hate to be "that guy", but you definately misspelled "cyclonefanatic.com" in big, bold, red letters.......

Aside from that, the pops might be coming down for the SG, and he'll likely bring a tailgating posse with him. I might have to stop by, though. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Re: Spring Game Tail-gate

What time are most people thinking of starting their tailgates? Has ISU set any timelines like they do or can you just roll in whenever and leave whenever?

Debating if we want to get the RV out of storage and bring it to Ames.

As Chris noted, we'll be in the back of Lot C4. A good number of us plan to arrive around 9:30-10 that morning.

Bring the RV's, the grills, the food and the games. But don't forget the beer and your Cyclone apparel.

Should be a fun day!

"Gates will open at 11:30 am with kick off at 1:00 pm. " Nick Britton, Director of Event Management at ISU.

Anyone can bring any game they wish. The more the better. Plus then we can make tournaments out of them with a good way to help raise money for the site.

I'm looking forward to it and hope you all are as well.

9:30-10am for a 1pm game? Heck we might be the only ones there around 7am if that's when everyone else shows up! Most games that start at 1pm I usually have at least a good buzz going on by that time. The last game of the year I definately was in the tank by then!

I dunno what the plans are actually. Most of our folks are going to the Sugarland/Kenny Chesney concert Friday night but some of us that aren't going to the concert will be ready to start first thing in the morning like it was a normal gameday!

Things are only in the works at this point, but I am working on getting a sign, banner, or flag to identify us by. In the coming weeks, I will keep this thread up to date to let you know of any changing events and new details.

Re: Spring Game Tail-gate

I'm already excited about some tailgating. Seems like every year we've added something to our tailgates that anymore we about have to have a checklist to make sure we have everything. Started with just a few cars, grills, and coolers. Then we added a 10x10 canopy tent, then came the bean bag toss, ladder golf, and flippy cup games then late last year we added the RV which will be our nice project this summer to deck out in Cyclone colors and some added amenities like a decent sound system and possibly a hookup for satalite TV.

A few year years ago never thought we'd get this caught up in tailgating but I see at least 3 road trips with the RV this fall: Nebraska, Kansas, and Mizzou. We almost needed the RV so we had something big enough to haul all the tailgate stuff we bring anymore plus it's a little cheaper to take the RV and maybe a car into the lots than have several cars all have to go.
