Also, is there any information on Keaton Nankivil??? I would like to see him in a cyclone uniform. Largely becaue of his size, (6-8, 245) but it says on some of the premium boards he has narrowed it down to 3 schools. I'm not sure if ISU is one of them. Any info???

If he stays out of the bars, we will let him in. 6-6 and #59 ranking sounds like what the Clones really need immediately. If he is still looking at four other schools including Baylor,Nebraska, and Florida, he must have been involved in some Colorado politics. Richardo is not having a good year. If Baylor or Nebraska takes him, that is not good for us.

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Nankivil is a no show and has been for quite some time. I think he has a top 5 but it has always really been between Wisconsin and Marquette. The kid really wants to stay close to home and they have been recruiting him since the beginning of time.

P'Allen isn't necessarily losing interest in ISU but rather getting more and more interest from some good schools. I think he really wants to enjoy the recruiting process as he seems to enjoy it a lot. When you stock's on the rise like his has been, why not ride it out and take the wave at it's peak? I still think there isn't a school that has a better shot at him than we do but of course that could change as more and more schools start to call.

Negadu is still very interested but he too has seen a lot more interest lately. He had a lot of contact with the previous coaching staff so he lost some interest but has since regained a lot of it to my knowledge. I haven't talked a lot about him because he really is hard to judge. I haven't been able to get a real concensus on what he's thinking from people I've talked to. He seems to really like one school one day and a completely different school a day later and so on and so forth. He even has a lot of interest in Iowa right now, he didn't a couple of weeks ago...

A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player.

Here's a quick video of Negedu. He's basically just dunking and stuff, so I really couldn't tell you anything about his basketball skills.

Hopefully the Brewster influence will sway him if he really is a solid target of McDermott.

Some Iowa posters think Negedu is close to committing. Probably means nothing at all but thought I'd relay that. Darius Gabriel was rumored to be a commit to us at one time during the Morgan regime. I think that was false but his interest was very high. I don't know about it currently.

Vanwright sounds like a great pickup for the 06/07. Sure it seems like we're overloaded at the small forward with guys like Clark, W. Johnson & Cory Johnson- the fact is only Clark has proven he can play at a Big 12 level.

I also question whether Cory Johnson will be able to play SF in the Big 12. A number of Big 12 teams use a 3 guard lineup and those that don't have very athletic players at the SF position. I'm just not sure C. Johnson can guard guys like Robey & Rush.

If guys like W. Johnson & Vanwright have the quickness & jumpshot to play SG & SF that would great. I've always liked the idea of having bigger SG's as they can contest 3 point shooters better.

I'd still like to get 2 post players out of this class since they can take a couple years to develop and IMO there is a higher failure rate amongst guys 6'8"+. Plus I'm not convinced Marsden will ever be more than a 15mpg player and Cory Johnson hasn't seen the court at ISU. Even if all goes well a group of Hubalek(sr), Thompson(jr), Marsden(jr), C. Johnson(so), Brackens(fr), ???(fr) would seem like good class balance, allow G-Mac to bring the frosh along slowly and maybe allow ISU to red-shirt Marsden.
