Credits: 463,890 | I just got a PS3 and got Call of Duty 4. Anyone have any advice for me. I had SOCOM 2 and 3 for PS2 and loved em to death. Its taking some time to get used to controls for a different game, even tho its about the same. Thanks.

The M16 is all you ever need, you get it to start and it's probably the best gun in the game.

I actually beat the game pretty easily. Was a little disappointed, is the game more fun online or should I try the expert level?

I haven't actually played it single player yet, but in multiplayer I seem to have a lot more luck with the "close quarters" gun (I forget what it's called) and/or the grenadier. Don't know if either option is available in single player, though.

Multiplayer is where this game shines, although the single player is pretty decent.

The only gripe with multiplayer is when you decide to have a party where you link systems up you have to have as many TVs and 360s as there are players. Kind of inconvenient. Not an issue if you only have 4 players, though.

I've yet to see him play with everyone, but I'm sure it would be crazy to see.

Credits: 1,012,619 | My best advice is to rank up quickly so that you get the martyrdom perk, which will help a ton, then the three grenade perk. The quickest way for me to rank up was to stick with a gun up to 150 kills, then move on. I always used assault rifles, then submachine guns, then the heavies. I've found that you get more kills (and less deaths) by running your *** off. My perks were always juggernaut (extra health)- then three stun grenades (until you can get three frags) and martyrdom. Last man standing is handy until you get that.

I'm on my 10th time through the prestige, and I personally am a fan of any of the Sub-Machine Guns. The assault rifles are nice for medium distance combat, but the time you get in close quarters, that gun becomes useless. That's why I always carry the SMG's. I'm not a big fan of the Martyrdom perk as once you get to play better people, they hardly kill anyone after you die. Instead I always go with the 3 frag grenades, Double tap (amazing in close quarter combat), and extreme conditioning. I think double tap is the sweetest cause you can kill the guy before he kills you, it seems that without it it takes so long to kill a guy. Extreme conditioning is awesome, because many of you know once you start a level, people chuck grenades on everypath you can think of trying to get easy kills, but with extreme conditioning you can blow by everyone and the key in Search and Destroy (where you rack up the big points) is to get behind the opposing team. If you can get behind them, you will own them everytime.
in search and destroy, you get 50 points per kill, and 100 points for every bomb placed or defused! I can usually get anywhere from 8-15 kills in a round of search and destroy and a couple bombs defused or placed and end up with anywhere from 500 points to 1000 in one round. And the rounds go faster than domination and you can easily rack up more points.
