'08 Corvette and model shots

Still sifting though these from a shoot Friday morning - but here are a couple I have done. The last one is my favorite. :)

BTW...she's a Cyclone fan - we've known her for years. Sadly, we didn't get time to do some Cyclone related shots - that's on the agenda for a red car later this summer.

A fun "midnight" variation of the shot above...

This is true.

But I'll only do it if you're covered in sand after a full night of volleyball and beer drinking (I do believe I accidentally reversed that order) at The Sands.

BTW...load up yourself and the fam, come to Grimes and we'll fire off some family portraits.

Re: '08 Corvette and model shots

great job, 22!!! For me, it's so hard to get a car to not look washed out unless I underexpose it but when you throw a model into the mix it's tough. What would a some kind of filter do to bring out the yellow in that car?? I always like your black and whites, but in this case I can't decide between the last two. Both are outstanding!!!

I had gone down to shoot some photos of Curt and VanillaThrilla's cars and the sun was pretty harsh so I was disappointed in my work. I have a lot to learn about that kind of stuff.

Love the mysterious nature of the second to last one with the use of the shadowing.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Just a couple of comments but basically watch your background. In the first few shots you have light towers growing out of the roof of the car, probably should clone those out. Also the corner of the building in #2 is distracting and pulls your eye away from the car.

I'll agree with you on the last one though, she looks very nice in it.

Ditto. My light kept changing as it was cloudy that morning yet the sun poked out every 10 minutes or so.

Thanks...I'll do that tonight! A new eye sees things mine did not. :)

The original plan because of weather was to do this shoot at the Valley West parking garage - so we wouldn't get wet. That morning the rain had stopped long enough for us to go outside.

In hindsight, I wish I would've kept the parking garage location - as I would've been able to control the light, not deal with wind (wasn't windy at all until we started actually shooting) and the biggest issue was - the sun was behind me. That's one of the toughest ways to shoot - especially with a car that is going to get blown out with that kind of light.

In the end I got some good shots - not near as many as I would've liked. Yet I learned a couple things as well for the next time. :)

I think the towers growing out of the roof look cool. Makes it look like you have a really powerful car phone.

Patrick who?

Also 22- I think there's a really good chance I'm going to win a Viper in Vegas this September. If so, I'll let you use it for one of your shoots sometime!
