Zelda: A Link to the Past

Is the only way to save your game through dying with a gamecube controller? I hit every button combo I could think of and didn't get squat. I had to kill myself off before I was able to save. Is there an easier option?

Through the fire and the flames we'll carry on.

See, your real problem here is you're not playing straight through

Ahh such a great game... Golden Sword baby!

Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!

My favorite of the series. I always go back and play that one. As far as playing it on the Wii I have no clue. I thought there was a menu save in the original.

I couldn't agree more. History will tag Ocarina as the pinnacle of the Zelda francise, but it can't touch Link to the Past in my mind. I'm sure it was a combination of my age at the time and the hours I spent with my brother navigating dungeons that attaches a warm/fuzzy to that game in my mind, but unlike many of the things I enjoyed back then Link to the Past is still as great today as I remember it being then.

Final Fantasy III/VI and the 75 Firebird that my dad handed down to me when I turned 16 are the only things that still manage to retain the same level of magic that I remember from my youth.

As much as Wind Waker was hated by alot of fans, I still go and play that one as well. I think both Wind Waker and Link to the Past were changing points in the franchise. They started new things that were carried on into the following games. I did thoroughly enjoy Majoras Mask and Ocarina as well, but the two I mentioned have more of a draw for me.

Link to the Past is my all time favorite. Could be an age thing... but I've played it more times than any other...

Re: Zelda: A Link to the Past

I could never finish Majora's Mask. The idea of repeating the three day thing over and over and doing a few things over again bothered me at the time. Maybe if I played it again now it wouldn't be so bad, but I"m not sure. OoT and LttP are the top two for me.

Through the fire and the flames we'll carry on.
