Assassins Creed

Anyone have this game that they're willing to give up? I'm anxious to try it out.

Thoughts on it? I thought it looks pretty sweet.

It's on my list to purchase once the price drops.

I was back and forth between that an GTA. Of course settled on GTA and kind of wish I hadn't.

Price has begun to drop. I've seen it at Best Buy for $39.99. I got mine at Target for $30. Absolutely worth the investment - next to Diablo II might very well be the best game I've ever purchased.

I bought it for $20 a couple weeks ago using a couple GameFly coupons.

Re: Assassins Creed

Thats where I had $50 in reward zone dollars for Best Buy, but got GTA instead. Although fun at times, it's just too intense for me regarding everything involved with that game.

Now Assassins could be the same, but I have a feeling there' a better plot and more direction of what to do.

You see I'm the football guy. Play four quarters and done. So when it comes to RPG games, straight and to the point works better for me than having 5 different scenarios going at once.

The game actually tells you on-screen which buttons you need to press and when, and gives you training scenarios on how to use your weapons/which buttons to push. Very easy to play, very engaging, very addictive.

I had it and it was fun most of the time, just didn't think it was very in depth. The villages are great and look really cool but it got kind of repetitive and was pretty easy to accomplish each mission. And it didn't take me very long to beat the game, but I've heard it's suppose to be the 1st in a trilogy and will get cooler and more in depth with different time periods.

Re: Assassins Creed

So would I be better off renting it, and waiting for it to be greatest hit or something?

I look at the time frame, I'm 30% through GTA and month left till NCAA comes out. It's hard to play GTA since its not child appropriate so I can't seem to find the time to devote towards it.

I think I finished the game on a long weekend. I don't play games much but when I do, I usually spend a whole weekend sipping beers and playing them.

Plus if you have a Nintendo DS there's a prequel to the game as well (I'll be picking that up as well).

Re: Assassins Creed

I have heard some issues on bordem regarding the game. I kind of felt the same way with splinter cell, but yet it still was pretty cool in it's own way. Just being stealth all the time gets kind of old.

I'm thinking of renting it this weekend. If I like it enough, I will just wait for the price to drop and find a good used copy somwhere.

I'm not stealth all the time - actually, I do pretty much most of my killing right out in the open, and I'd rather kill everyone than run and hide.

That's what figured out in the game later on. After learning all the abilities it's just much easier to kill everyone than hide from them all.

Re: Assassins Creed

Okay, so I rented it. 5 days worth of this. I did see it at Gamers for $25. I thought I would try it first and then see. If I beat it (which probably won't happen) or just sick of it, I'm not out the full 25.

First thoughts, it's slow. You make it as action packed as you want it to be. I started getting all these flags and such and then realized that that just takes way too much time and got right after my first assassination. Boy was that more fun.

I did forget how to do the silent kill? The one where you just come from behind and quickly kill them without much noise. Just like what you do when you first start the game.

How long is the game? How many assassinations?
