Holy crap...it's been a good day...

So I have a client that modifies foreign cars and is wanting me to do some shots for his business. I noted that in the thread about warehouse spaces.

The GM over at the Ankeny Airport wasn't able to help me and directed me to Karl Moyer and Denny Elwell.

I spoke to both guys today, expected to get shot down. Both were more than happy to help and I'll be touring a few of their spaces sometime this week. Neither asked for anything of real substance in exchange.

In talking to Denny, he's got a party he's hosting at the end of this month and said "maybe we can trade photography and you can shoot that as I'm looking for a photographer for my party".

I'm wondering who that helps more, me or him?

I'm really stoked today, a few things falling into place rather nicely. This thing is taking off a bit faster than I had planned - which is certainly not a bad thing.

While you're at it, ask them how many rows of the new end zone they want to buy!

Oh... people will come Mr. Pollard. People will most definitely come.

No, I don't live in Seattle anymore, I'm back in Des Moines but I don't feel like changing my username.

If you don't think I'll be wearing ISU apparel when I tour the warehouses, you're crazy. :)

Maybe I can pull the "while we're here, Pollard sent me to pick up a rather large check...".

I'd be careful with that. It's great to show pride in your school. But, I know better than to wear ISU gear when at work. It truly can effect whether someone will ultimately continue to work with you. If it's known that these guys are ISU fans, then so be it. But, if not, I'd be careful. I know plenty that have opted to boycott Kum & Go, thanks to the owner's affiliation with the u of i...

22- I wouldn't sweat it...even if you **** them off by sporting your true colors you can always get them back with a 49 cent Pop vs. Soda promotion...worked on me

this is true.

the animosity in my company between the schools is apparent. the rivalry gets quite intense during fb season.

Are you confusing Denny Elwell with the potential donor name that has been floated of Denny Albaugh?

Wear the sports short underneath another business shirt?

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

No, I'm assuming they're both rich and can both help us.

You have a point there. I never knew of K&G's affiliation with U of I until I heard Marty and Miller mention it yesterday. I am less likely to continue buying gas there now that I know.

That's probably a safe bet...I was just thinking that the original poster was thinking of the golf outing that is being hosted at Mr. Albaugh's as the potential event he would be shooting.

But you know what assuming does...

Fair point. :)

Nope, I am not confusing the two.

I'm really stoked for this shoot, especially now the location is coming together. Elwell has a 40k sq. ft. space in Ankeny it sounds like I can use, Karl Chevy is vacating it as of today.

The shoot is for about 4-6 cars and 6-8 models (hoping to line up more), so that big of a space is going to be killer for this. Payment is simply for another photoshoot - where I'll probably meet a bunch of other folks that are in search of photos.

Huge win.
