Re: Metal Gear Solid 4

Ok, I spent the last 2 hrs playing and when I say playing I mean dying every few min. I guess I am used to shooters on the computer because the controls of this game are SUCKTASTIC!

Looks like it could be fun once I learn how to shoot.

Once you get a hold of the controls you should be fine. That's the way it always worked in the other ones.

Hrm, outside of the boss fights ya shouldn't be worrying about this too much

Although I 'spose all the espionage can get boring after a while and you just want to open up on folks

It's a sneaking mission, not a shooting mission. I think that is the funnest part. Sneaking up behind people, grabbing them and knocking 'em out. Trying not to kill anyone.

Last night I just started over and am playing through them chronologically with Snake Eater on forward.

These games are so movie-esque that playing out the story line is a blast, plus I'm sure I'll pick up on stuff I've missed from before

Ahah I see, yea the idea is to sneak around areas without being seen. I can understand the confusion especially in the Middle East area you start out in.

That area is a lot different than any other setting any of the games has ever taken place in. All of the other games is Snake by himself on a mission, not Snake trying to weave his way between two different armies

But now we should find out who the Patriots are...

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4

Alright, if you haven't gathered, I caved in and got a PS3 in hopes of selling my 360 one ebay to get some money back.

I got the 80 bundle with the MGS4 game included and I look forward to playing it. Its been some time since I've played MGS2, but I hope to catch on. Which by the way, I think I still have that around here somewhere.

Anyway, how's everyone doing with it. I noticed some weird videos cut into the game. I don't know what it has to do with the game itself, but they are just strange. Whats that about?

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4

I am getting my butt kicked left and right. I am just not figuring it out yet. The controls are so incredibly bad that it is hard to not die right away. I guess I need to get a better grasp of the sneaking around.

That being said, I really want to get better at this, it seems like it will be a ton of fun once I get the hang of it. I actually played for about 25 min without dying last night.

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4

Ok, I was finally able to get a little ways in it tonight. I was being too aggressive and not sneaking up on people enough. Much easier to shoot them in the back so they cannot call in reinforcements.

I always like shooting their radios silently, then airing off an unsilenced round, and face-shooting them when they started to run away.

Yea this series is heavily dependent on you being able to sneak around. Once you get the hang of that, it's a freaking blast.

I know I haven't gotten a ways yet (just picked up the Drum for disguise), but its' better than I remeber for MGS2.

I still want to know what he little movie things were at the beginning. It's like it had nothing to do with the game, but yet couldn't get past it. A loading sessoin maybe?

Re: Metal Gear Solid 4

I got the game and since i suck at video games I put it on easy, once I figured out the controls (midway through Act 2) I started to have a lot of fun. The story is so in depth that I want to play the other games just to try and understand it more.
